I believe therapy is most effective when it is thoughtfully tailored to your individual needs, goals, and life context, while remaining firmly guided by scientific research.
This means I do not view your struggles in isolation. Your unique history, cultural identity, and the systems and environments you navigate each day are central to the work we do together. My goal is to blend clinical science with a culturally responsive approach, giving you concrete, practical tools while helping you approach your life with greater flexibility, mindfulness, and self-compassion.
I integrate advanced, evidence-based therapies into a customized, comprehensive framework:
To break free from anxious spirals and rumination: I use specialized treatments including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
To heal from trauma and PTSD: I implement structured protocols like Prolonged Exposure (PE).
To improve daily functioning and feel more present in your life: I draw from ACT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches.

My journey as a psychologist is built on a strong foundation of clinical science and a passion for translating research into effective, compassionate care. Over time, I became drawn to the human side of this work: bringing science into the therapy room to help clients create meaningful change in their everyday lives.
I earned my Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Counseling Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University and also hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. Throughout my 8 years of training, I developed clinical expertise across highly specialized inpatient and outpatient settings. This includes intensive training at the world-renowned McLean Hospital’s OCD Institute, where I trained in state-of-the-art treatments for OCD and complex anxiety disorders.
I completed my doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine, further deepening my training in supporting individuals navigating the effects of trauma and mood disorders. At the UNC Center for Women’s Mood Disorders, I gained specialized training supporting women through reproductive transitions—including pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. As a researcher, I have published multiple peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters in behavioral medicine.

As a therapist, I am thoughtful, collaborative, and authentic. I approach my work with deep care and appreciation for the opportunity to walk alongside you in your life. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Working with me means we are partners in your care - I bring clinical expertise while honoring you as the expert on your own life.
In sessions, we’ll balance practical, evidence-based strategies with a warm, supportive, non-judgmental space for reflection and growth. I believe insight and self-compassion are powerful catalysts for change, but meaningful growth also comes from putting what we learn into practice.
On a personal note, I’m a self-proclaimed foodie and proud dog mom to a sassy rescue beagle. I love exploring local coffee shops, running, weightlifting, and spending time outdoors. I’m also a little obsessed with Halloween and low-budget slasher films.
Note: I also offer therapy in Farsi (تراپی به زبان فارسی)
