Hi! I'm Cailey.

I provide an authentic, collaborative space for older adolescents (16+) and adults navigating intense emotions, trauma, and behavioral patterns that feel out of control. My goal is to help you step out of survival mode - whether you are wrestling with trauma, substance use, or disordered eating - and build a resilient, fulfilling life where you feel firmly in the driver's seat.

Specialties: Emotion Dysregulation & DBT, Trauma Recovery, Substance Abuse & Dual Diagnosis, OCD, Disordered Eating, LGBTQIA+ Issues

My approach to therapy is rooted in acceptance-based behavioral models, meaning we focus heavily on balancing radical self-acceptance with the concrete skills needed to change what's not working in your life.

If you're navigating multiple co-occurring diagnoses, you likely need a therapist who can help you see how your history, neurobiology, current symptoms, coping strategies, and life context intertwine. I specialize in navigating this kind of clinical complexity. Together, we will get to the bottom of what is keeping you stuck, figure out where you want to go next, and work through the emotions, trauma memories, and old belief patterns that get in your way.

I am extensively trained in multiple gold-standard protocols, allowing us to customize a path that fits your unique needs:

  • To manage intense emotions and behaviors: I am trained in full-model DBT and provide DBT-informed care to help you target mood swings, chronic stress, behavioral dyscontrol, and interpersonal struggles.

  • To break cycles of anxiety and OCD: I utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Uniquely, I can seamlessly integrate ERP and DBT together for individuals who need to learn emotional regulation skills while systematically facing their core anxieties.

  • To heal from traumatic stress: I implement highly effective protocols, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Lifespan Integration (LI), to help you safely process traumatic invalidation, unwanted memories, and trauma reminders.

I bring over a decade of clinical experience working with individuals across all levels of care, from intensive residential programs to outpatient settings. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lafayette College and my master’s degree in counseling from William & Mary, where my passion for specialized populations began while developing a therapeutic program for incarcerated women.

I spent the first ten years of my career embedded in dual-diagnosis treatment settings, eventually serving as the Program Director for a women’s substance use disorders program. Witnessing the high rate of co-occurring conditions inspired me to seek out advanced, specialized training in trauma, eating behaviors, and behavioral dyscontrol. Since transitioning to private outpatient practice in 2016, I have dedicated my practice to providing comprehensive, integrated care that honors the full complexity of each individual's story.

I have pursued extensive training in multiple areas of recovery that are often relevant to the clients I serve, focusing on recovering from trauma, breaking patterns of compulsive behavior, and overcoming intense fears. I have received BTTI certification through IOCDF to treat OCD with ERP.

In the therapy room, I bring a deeply empathetic, down-to-earth vibe. I don't believe in rigid clinical distance. I am a real human being, I care a lot about your progress, and I show up without judgment so you can feel safe bringing your rawest, most honest self to our sessions.

My genuine warmth is balanced with a direct, goal-oriented approach. Because I am deeply invested in your recovery, I am an active participant in your care. I don't just sit back and nod. I will kindly but directly challenge the old patterns that keep you stuck, cheer your victories, and provide you with practical tools to use between sessions. We will work as a team to navigate the messy parts of life with compassion, honesty, and a clear path forward.

On a personal note, I am a mother to two humans, two cats, one large golden retriever and 2 guinea pigs.  I love house projects, deep conversations, traveling and recycling anything I can.  I try to spend as much time as possible outside, and I apologize in advance that my clothes are probably covered in fur right now.
